Workday HCM Platform Developer / Analyst

Overview

The People Foundation Pod within Corporate Systems owns Core HCM, Workday Help, and VNDLY , supporting accurate worker, organization, employee service, and contractor lifecycle data.

This hands-on contract role is responsible for the stability, security, health, and day-to-day operation of the Workday platform across these capabilities. The role is intentionally split between functional Workday configuration and technical, integration-facing platform support , with a strong focus on KTLO, production health, configuration maintenance, release readiness, and issue resolution.

The role partners closely with Product Management, Functional and Integration Development, HR Shared Services, Procurement, Finance, and other Corporate Systems teams to keep Workday reliable, scalable, secure, and well controlled.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Production Support & Operations

• Own the day-to-day operational health of Workday capabilities within the People Foundation Pod.
• Investigate and resolve functional and technical production issues across Core HCM, Workday Help, and worker lifecycle processes.
• Troubleshoot failed or incorrect business processes, transactions, security assignments, configuration issues, and unexpected system behavior.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes for recurring production issues.
• Support incident resolution for production-impacting issues across functional and technical domains.
• Maintain configuration health and proactively identify technical or functional debt.
• Support release readiness, platform stability, and ongoing KTLO activities.

Core HCM Configuration

• Configure and maintain Workday functionality supporting:
  • Worker and contingent worker lifecycle
  • Organizations and supervisory structures
  • Staffing and job changes
  • Business process administration
  • Security assignments
  • Foundational worker and organization data
• Troubleshoot and correct business process routing, condition rules, security, notifications, validations, and related configuration.
• Perform configuration changes required to maintain platform stability and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with Functional Developers on larger enhancements, redesigns, or new capabilities.

Workday Integrations

• Support troubleshooting of inbound and outbound Workday integrations affecting People Foundation processes.
• Partner with Integration Developers to diagnose issues across APIs, web services, middleware, and downstream systems.
• Determine whether issues originate from Workday configuration, integration logic, or external systems.
• Validate data integrity between Workday and connected systems.
• Contribute to stabilization and remediation of recurring integration-related production issues.

Workday Help

• Support the operational health and configuration of Workday Help.
• Troubleshoot case routing, security, visibility, configuration, and business process issues.
• Partner with HR Shared Services to identify systemic issues requiring platform-level remediation.
• Reduce support volume through improved configuration, automation, self-service, and root-cause remediation.

VNDLY & Contingent Workforce

• Support Workday processes and data associated with the contractor lifecycle and VNDLY.
• Troubleshoot worker data, process, and integration issues impacting contingent workers and downstream People processes.
• Partner with Procurement, Finance, Integration teams, and other stakeholders when contractor lifecycle processes cross organizational and system boundaries.

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on Workday experience
• Strong functional knowledge of Workday Core HCM
• Hands-on Workday configuration experience
• Experience with Workday Business Processes and worker lifecycle processes
• Production support and troubleshooting experience
• Ability to troubleshoot common Workday integration issues
• Ability to work independently and follow established configuration and integration patterns

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Workday Help
• VNDLY / contingent workforce processes
• Workday reporting and calculated fields
• Security administration and security troubleshooting
• SOX, audit, or User Access Review experience
• Experience supporting a large or global Workday environment
• Broader integration experience beyond basic troubleshooting
